I was rearranging my iTunes (2.03) playlist and I had a kernal panic (I am running OS X). When I rebooted, I was unable to open iTunes. The error message said "unknown Error (-208)".

Under older versions of Mac OS, before giving up and reinstalling an app, I would try zapping pram or eliminating the preferences file in the systems folder. This would often get the app back up and running.

I have absolutely NO idea how do deal with this under OS 10.1.2 (I am on an iBook 600 with 384 megs of ram). Is my iTunes Library lost? Or is there a few tricks I can try?

It will take me HOURS to redo my library and I am going on a 2 week trip tomorrow morning and NEED my iPod!

HELP !!!!!!!! (Thanks in advance)

Back-up all of the data files and reinstall the application. Your data is more than likely safe.

Actually the songs (saved as mp.3 files) are all there and the application is fine. It is the library file itself that is un readible. I know of no way in OS 10.1.2 to repair it. So I am guessing that I will have to re do the entire library of 850 songs. Which means hours of work, as I have to reset the equilizers for each song and try to remember which songs when into what playlists (I had over 20 lists).

Thanks anyway...

That's why you back stuff up. Anything that I pour massive amounts of time into gets duplicated and put into another location.
