Just wondering what users of 19" monitors have their resolution set to?
Since this is an in-between size monitor, do you use an in-between resolution like 1152x870?
I find 1024x768 is too big, while 1280x1024 is too tiny. Both of those are available @ 85 hz though...while running 1152x870 on my G4 is only available @ 75hz...which has a slight flicker to it.
Cheers,

1280x1024 is the 19" norm (well, I'm doing that on a 17" so hah).... your eyes get used to it though, just give it time. However, if you go to versiontracker.com and download "multi resolutions" you have a wide variety of resolutions and may be able to go 1152x870@85hz or something...

1280x1024 is one of those 'non-standard' resolutions which do not properly fit the proportions of a 4:3 computer monitor. 1280x960 is the better choice for a 19".

How do you know a 19" monitor is a 4:3 ratio?
Also, should I look for a refresh rate higher than 75hz?
Thanks,

By definition, all monitors (like TVs) are 4:3 unless they are widescreen or portrait.
I'd set a 19" monitor to 1280x960, personally... though I just realized my 21" is at 1280x1024 (for some reason the Voodoo4 in this PowerCenter, which is functioning as my interim primary Mac) won't support 1600x1200 or anything higher than 75 Hz.
Depending on your sensitivity, 75 Hz is fine... some people prefer 85 Hz. I find it hard to tell the difference between the two when I'm looking at the screen, but if 85 Hz is available I'll take it.
