The number pad on my Apple Keyboard with mac mini G4 and Panther stopped working a couple days ago. It failed to respond after switching USB port, Disconnecting every other device, and buying a new keyboard didn't help either.
Tried connecting the mini with an IBM PC keyboard, but the number pad did not respond either not did its Num Lock light. Please advice on further actions.

This is a long shot, but...go into the System Preferences, go to the Universal Access pane, and select the Mouse & Trackpad tab. See if Mouse Keys got turned on somehow. This might make it so you can't use the number pad in the normal way.
