Can anyone recommend a cooler/stand that can be used with a 15" MacBook Pro on the desk as well as on your lap to keep the hot metal away from the skin and the desktop?

Back in August we had this discussion. My favorite (mentioned there) is still the Targus Ergonomic X-Stand for Notebooks. Simple, lightweight and compact (VERY compact when folded), this item takes no power and does exactly what you want on a desk.

I seldom use my MBP directly on my lap for ergonomic reasons, but when I need to do it, I generally use my Incase sleeve between my lap and the MBP. It's a great sleeve, too!

I use my sleeve as a lapdesk, too, when I'm on the road. at home I use one of those beanbag lapdesks when I'm working in a recliner, and an iCurve at my desk. But I'm thinking about maybe getting a Laptop Desk 2, which doubles as an elevated deskstand and a lapdesk. (You need an elevated stand to raise it to proper ergonomic height and avoid neckstrain, as well as permitting air to get under the Macbook and cool it.) It doesn't have a powered fan , but it does have grooves which supposedly let air circulate underneath when it's on your lap. Unfortunately, the web link I had for it doesn't seem to be working, ,which isn't a good sign, I guess.
