Should I toss my iSub for the Monsoon 700. I think my iSub is great but I heard the Monsoon 700 is better, I'm sure the flat speakers are far superior to the built in one's on the iMac, but what I'm concerned with is the bass, I want HUGE, DEEP bass, the loudest I can get for my iMac DV. If any one has compared the two, please give me your input. Also, is there any way possible to use my iSub and the Monsoon 700, that would Rock!!!!!

One of the most powerful bass for computer speakers is still Microworks. 45W of bass doubles that of the iM700. (price around US$150. 7watt satillites use traditional stereo speaker lines, so you can replace them with regular book-shelf speakers if you like, I did with a pair of cheap Bose )
As for the review of iM700 compared to iSub, search MacNN's site...or the fora, for this has been discussed many times before.

I never understood what's with all the hype over iM-700. It's flat-panel w/good sound quality, big deal! Thesubwoofer is ONLY 22W, making it over-priced IMO. I'm not saying my Microworks is "the greatest speakers out there," but for US$150, you get a pair of speakers that has been considered the best 3 piece speaker in the industry (microworks of course) 'til maybe last year, when 5.1/4.1 surround became the biggest thing. Also the standard stereo wires are definitely a plus, 'cuz you can do a lot more with it that other speakers...Granted the Microworks comes in beige instead of "ice" (black model avilable too), but what's the point?

Does the Microworks sub have alot of bass, more than the iSub. I like my iSub and it has good bass, but if another sub has alot more bass, then I want it. Is there not any way to use my iSub with other speakers like microworks?

Quick research reveals that the iSub is a 20W subwoofer (essentially translate to the amount of Bass), and I recall reading the iM700 has a 22W sub. the Microworks is a 3 piece speaker (a 45W sub + 2 satillites of 7W each). It has a sound-level control thing, and at level 4 out of 10 (when my G4's sound is set to Max), I was barely able to sit infront of my computer...'course speakers lose power over time, but there's A LOT of room for the Microworks.
To my understanding, the iSub is only designed to work with the internal speakers of the iMac...
If you want a ridiculous amount of Bass, I've seen some 450W subwoffers go for 'bout $500...only problem is to connect it to your computer
