Well i'm sick of trying to deal with the defective buttons on my Kensington optical mouse in a box , and fed up with wasting time tryng to get satisfaction from kensington's website . B
b*ll*cks to it! The disconnected optical pro is going either in the trash, or back to the manuf with a succint letter, and the hockey puck is coming out of mothballs. Ok now that i have vented my spleen from all the wasted time, and botched click hold and drags. OK the software for the mousewas great but...
Well hey what's a better mouse - many of you seem to like MS opticals, what's your beloved rodent of choice for web and graphic design and programming mouseclicks, application sets etc?

I personally prefer the Logitech Cordless Optical Scroll Wheel Mouse and the MacAlly Opti Jr. Mouse. They've both worked on OS X fine (although the second and third buttons have lost their customization) and work on OS 9 beautifully. Hopefully, both companies will release drivers for OS X soon. Hope this helps.

I'm in love with my Logitech Mouseman Wheel Optical. Not cordless though. It's got 2 top buttons, a push button scroll wheel, and a thumb button. I even convinced my boss to buy me one for the mac at work.
Plus, I love his cool blue glowing butt.

I bought a Kensington MIAB optical pro. A year later it died. I emailed Kensington and they said they would give me a replacement. The model I had was backordered so they gave me a regular MIAB Optical. When the Pros were in stock, they sent me one and I got to keep the other mouse. I am pretty happy with their service. Have you asked them for a replacement?

I used to have the Kensington optical, and really liked it a lot. However I wanted to go optical and cordless, and as Kensington doesn't make one that I know of, I went with the Logitech, and I love it. The software is similar to Kensington's, (make sure you update at their website), and the heft and action of the scrollwheel is more to my liking than Kensington. Plus I love the cordless feature. I highly recommend Logitech.

I used to have an Optical Mouse in a Box as well. When mine died,
I bought the Apple Optical Pro mouse. I find it to be the best mouse
I have every owned. I don't even miss the extra buttons that the Mouse
in a Box had.

I just bought a Logitech MouseMan Dual Optical. It has two optical sensors, which is supposed to give it better tracking. I chose it because it has a nice shape, and the color matches my TiBook nicely.
