I'm torn between four different CRT displays- the 17" Studio display (for its price), the Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 900u, La Cie electron 19 blue, and the MultiScan GDM-400PS. Are there any others I should be considering for the $500-700 price range? This will be used for graphic design and the color accuracy, sharpness and brightness are key. I'm very grateful for any help you can provide with this difficult decision.

The electron 19 and the Mitsubishi 19 are both very good moniters (in fact, the LaCie uses the same Mitsubishi tube). I also happen to like the 17" studio display (the new one). I actually think $500 is kinda justified for that moniter now due to the Apple Display Connector, USB hub calibration, and completely flat screen.

You really can't go wrong with any of your choices. If you want a bigger canvas, go with the 19's.

screen wise well i find bigger is better

i use a 21" mitsubishi 91txm set to 1600x1200 and i could do with more desktop still

infact where are those 50" screens !!!!

well my advice is get as big as poss as long as the image quality satisfys and you can afford it

once youve used a huge screen youll never want to look at a 17" or even a 19" again!

the key is cost! can you afford it

cheers
