I hope to buy an iMac in the next year. First I want to buy a digital camcorder for typical home movie-type stuff.

Can anyone suggest a good camera, one that works well with the iMac? I lean towards Canon and Sony, for starters. I'd like to stay under $1500 (street price), if I can.

I have a Panasonic for sale on eBay. It's a nice MiniDV camera and works great with iMac/iMovie. I also recommend Canon.

I've printed out the list, but I notice that some camcorders seem to have problems with the iMac (noted by asteriks on the list.)

I wanted to find out, from users, who has had great results with (Brand Name) camera?
