I've got a Canon A530 and am interested in upgrading the memory card. I found a 1 GB from Kingston at Macmall for only $15.99:

Is this a reliable card for my camera? Obviously I am interested in a good deal when I can find one, but I don't want throw my money away on something substandard. If this isn't the way to go, what would you recommend?

Kingston should be fine. I have 2 cellphones and they all have Kingston SD cards in them.

Why the dramatic price difference between cards? I noticed that some 1 or 2 GB cards are quite a bit more expensive.

Well, some SD cards are classified as high-speed, which tend to be more expensive. Brand is also a factor for the price differences. So far, I have good results on SanDisk and Kingston brand for their SD cards.

People gave good reviews on your particular SD card over on Newegg.com as well.
