Targus USB Optical Scroller Mouse? Does it work with OS X? The benefit of this mouse is that it will be easy to find here in Toronto.

Kensington PocketMouse Pro with retractable USB cord?

Kensington Pocketmouse?

Both the Kensington's have OS X.1 software and are optical as well. I've been having a hard time finding these small Kensington mice and their website does't ship to Canada. The Pro is kinda big too.

I've got the Pocketmouse (non Pro edition) and it works great. You may have luck finding it at the Dell store. I ordered it from there (they often have a discount - check techbargains.com) and even though it said not in stock, I specified overnight delivery and it came the next day anyway. (Some times, if you order through the Home Store, they seem to accidentally not charge you for overnight shipping, at least it happened twice to me last month!)

I didn't know about the Pro edition - it sounds handy that the cord retracts into it. The regular one comes with a little carry bag, and it fits nicely into one of the two pockets of my Brenthaven Mobility 1 iBook carrybag.

It also works great with OS X.

Hope that helps.

Thanks. What is the OS X.1 software like for the Kensington. If it allows you to change the mouse acceleration I'll try to find it for sure.

The Mouseworks for OS X.1 is more or less similar to Mouseworks for OS 9, however it does not have all the features yet. I think one that is left out, currently, is the feature where you can have it dynamically alter mouse acceleration (using the handle on the little graph). I may be wrong, but I don't think it's in the OS X version yet.

Nonetheless the software is pretty good. The little Pocketmouse is easy enough to hold, although it is only about 2/3 the length of a regular mouse (eg the Microsoft scroll-wheel mouse on my desk here). It's not as comfortable for my big hand as a full-size mouse, but then again it's just for the laptop
