no one's stopping you, OF COURSE U CAN. why else would they have firewire in the first place if you couldnt use the firewire burner with another computer. Happy Macing
well, you cannot plug in BOTH powerbooks to the same firewire drive at the same time... BUT you can hot-swap the drive from one PowerBook to the other. Just un-mount the drive by dragging to Trash or using Put Away command or Eject command.
Don't let a PowerBook go to sleep with a Firewire drive attatched. You should un-mount a Firewire hard drive when you are done using it.
You could use it with both if you file share through ethernet or Airport to the other machine. It's much slower, but could be done. At least with the hard drive. I don't know how you could share the CD-RW short of hot swapping it.
