This thread is aimed at creating a concise list of features (Keep your rants to a minimum )

+ Points
=========================
-Looks nice
-Transfers files blisteringly fast (Firewire 5Gb in 10mins)
-Massive storage capacity (5Gb)
-Compact, about the size of a large mobile phone
-Rechargable (Eco friendly + cheap to run)

- Points
=========================
-No onboard Eq adjustment making sound flat according to some people. (This may be remedied in future via software updates)
-$400 price tag (about $100 more than a nomad/archos)
-If you don't own a Firewire capable Mac ? You'll have to look elsewhere (see Apple iPod FAQ)

Please add what you like don't like.
Suicide is painless.

From what I can gather, buying a simpl $50 Fireware PCMCIA card or PCI card will give you fireware. So that solves that problem. As for on board EQ, it had better not be a flat sound after the hype of the commercial. I am expecting mine Friday.

Fireiwre disk mode is a HUGE help. I mean, not that i commonly have occasion for this, but how often are you in a pinch and need to install some commonly used piece of software after you reinstall but dont feel like redownloading...

This will be cool, mainly cause I do alot of troubleshooting for people i know and i can keep things like important til (oops...i mean kbase) articles on it, or useful random programs (although i dont plan on using it just as a disk of course)

I'd have to say its biggest minus is that whole charging thing. It charges 80% or something in an hour but for 100% it can take up to 7?! what?

I suppose constant current is asymptotic (in some way which i was unfamiliar) in a recharge battery

Those are all valid points. But I alwalys tell friends (who state similar + and - sides) that these are all tradeoffs of one another. You can say the exact opposite of any other mp3 player. For example, the higher price is the tradeoff you get for getting a very small unit. Where in a jukebox or nomad (not sure about exactly the brands) but you get a cheaper unit but they are big and personally, I wouldn't lug that with me. The tradeoff for speed is the firewire. USB players are more common but again, the tradeoff you get for that is slow speed. At least the EQ can be fixed. .. someday..

So when my friends sit there and complain about price and not being USB, I just say, fine get another player, you have no choice right. They're just upset that they can't have an iPod (or the most perfect mp3 player they can conceive) which is why they gripe. I hope to get an iPod this Sat. I can't wait because my commutes are really dull listening to the same old songs over and over again (64 meg mem stick in clie (not to mention the agonizing labor it takes to convert my high quality mp3's to 96kbs and then load them on the memory stick.. MANUALLY)).

Well.. I can't wait!

Sorry I went a bit off topic... My - I would say is the HD capacity... I have TONS of mp3's and many more to convert!! I would need at least 7 gigs maybe for music and then a few for a firewire HD! But oh well. Maybe next year.
