I'm runnin a Power Mac 6500/275 and I've been trying to install ATI's Nexus 128 graphics card. Here is the problem that I've been having. I've installed the card and everything, but when I turn the computer on, I see nothing but the background. No icons, no menu bar, nothing. This is strange because it isn't like a freeze or crash or anything. The computer is behaving normally. The monitor just won't display anything other than the desktop pattern. Anyone have any ideas? I've already been to the ATI website and it hasn't helped at all.

i THINK that the nexus is set up as a 2nd monitor. the OS is probably sending the menubar to the on-board video, and since you havn't put anything on the 'extended' desktop that you see on the nexus monitor, you don't get any icons either. try to hook up monitors to both the nexus and the built-in video, and then you'll probably see that the one attached to the built-in has everything and runs fine. then go to monitors control panel, and drag the menubar to the nexus monitor. shutdown, disconnect the monitor from the built-in, and reboot. that's all i can come up with.
hope that helps,
