I have a Hitachi DVD camera that i can not get movies off of onto my macbook. I plugged it in using a USB mini cable(this may have something to do with the problem because it says to use a firewire cabe?) I am putting the camera into play mode but as soon as it is connected to the computer the ACCESS PC light comes and the screen on the camera goes blank. The computer does not seem to pic up the camera(recognize it). If anyone has help i would really appriciate it.

You probably answered your own question if it says to use a firewire cable and you are using a USB cable. Another possible issue: does it say it's Mac compatible?
