is there a software that allows to digitize stills/photos that were recorded on a DV tape?
what i am looking for is a software that automaticly scans the DV tape for stills/photos and digitizes them onto the harddisk (without logging them in myself). i use a pismo G3 and a Sony PC1.

It is possible to capture still images using the Apple Video Player which can be found on the apple ftp site. This software will not, however, search for still photos to capture. You must do that yourself. Promax sells it's DV toolkit which comes with firesnap which will also allow you to capture still images at a much higher resolution that apple video player. Firesnap also has device control.

Digital Origin has a product called PhotoDV that captures stills from DV. It comes with Photoshop LE too.

there is a shareware piece of software that works well with firewire DV camcorders to capture stills. very small application that saves PICTs and movies. its called BTV and works with more than just DV/firewire video inputs. their web site is <http://www.btv.org.uk/>
