I'm using a laserwriter 4/600 PS with a powercomputing powercenter 150 running OS 8.1. The printer will not print Acrobat PDF files, it just gives me a postscript error. I get the same error when printing graphics from some websites and graphics programs.

I've wiped the HD clean, reinstalled OS 8.1, and I get the same error messages.

Compounding the problem is that I'm printing over a network. It's an ethernet connection. I have the laserwriter bridge extension installed v2.1.

Also--should have mentioned this earlier--I cannot print to this printer using an iMac DVSE w/OS 9.0.4. However, both the iMac and the powercenters will print on an HP printer.

I'm pulling my hair out on this one. All of the network consultants know is PCs, so they can't help me. These are some of the only macs on the network

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Some part of this may be of use to you:

Using a LaserWriter Select 360 successfully with an iMac 0S 9.0.4 - ethernet from the iMac to an Asanté Friendly Bridge (ethernet to localtalk hub) - LocalTalk from the Bridge to the LWS 360.

Asanté costs $100 U.S. - LocalTalk adapters $6 ea U.S. - FastNet brand of adapters contain built in on/off terminator switches.

Latest LaserWriter software installed from the Apple Extras folder in the System folder.

Thanks, but I don't have much control over the network hardware here. I suspect the network could be the problem--it is entirely PC-oriented. I don't know much about networks so this is mainly speculation.

I've installed the newest Laserwriter 8 driver version available for OS 8.1, but no luck. The iMac has a fully updated Laserwriter 8 running on 9.0.4. Both printers constantly get post-script messages.

Here's an error I just got while trying to print a canvas illustration:

Error: limitcheck
Offending Command: show
