I just installed a PCI-to-USB adapter card in my Beige G3, and I purchased new USB keyboard and mouse from Adesso and Kensington, respectively. I connected the Kensington Pro Optical Mouse into the keyboard, and the hardware seems to work becaues I can see the laser inside glowing, but the cursor doesn't respond to mouse movements, and i can't seem to click either.

Don't assume I am an idiot yet, I have version 1.4.1 USB support, the latest available for download, Kensington Mouseworks version 5.5, also the newest version... and it still doesn't seem to work even with minimum system folder configurations.

Kensington says that the mouse will work with adapater cards, and since my USB burner and keyboard is working, therefore the card is not faulty. So can anyone help me explain why my optical mouse won't work?

Have you tried unplugging the mouse after the computer starts up, then plugging it back in? You should hear hard drive activity as the drivers load. I'm assuming that you plugged the mouse into the keyboard. You may want to try plugging the mouse directly into the USB card. Maybe one of the ports on the keyboard is faulty. Hope this helps!

I got it to work after downloading the newest NEWEST version of the driver from Kensington's FTP site. It was released after they shipped the mouse.
