I have a ipod that the housing was broken and hard drive soon enuf just came loose and i want to know how to get the 30 gigs of music files back. i need to know if there is such thing as an adaptor that connects the bare ipod hard drive to usb?

yes there is you will need some thing like this

eBay: SATA IDE > USB 2.5" 3.5" 5.25" hard drive disk adapter (item 130064818301 end time Jan-04-07 20:15:01 PST)

the ipod drive is a ATA /EIDE 1.8 inch.

There is a toshiba portege 1.8 inch to 3.5 inch adapter. costs 99.

From there, you can use a usb to 3.5 inch adapter. USB 2.0 to IDE Cable Adapter (for 2.5" and 3.5" IDE) ADA-USB2IDE-25-35 ADA-USB2IDE-25-35 $9.50
