Somewhere in the last 3 weeks I saw a GREAT tutorial on how to put the Maxtor IDE drive into the Pyro kit. (Am awaiting both from Outpost.)

Now ... I can't find the link anywhere?

Might someone have that handy?
Thanks.

I just put one together yesterday, it was a snap. Connect the power and IDE cables to the drive, plug in the enclosure and power it up. After a few seconds plug the firewire into your computer. It should come right up. With a new drive it will ask you to initialize. I later used the included software to partition it. Everything worked great and still is; I just captured 5 gigs of video to it today.

I did it -- got it to work too!

I'm soooo happy.

Now could you tell me how you partitioned your 30gb? I too will use it for video projects and Final Cut Pro.

Thanks in advance.

I have a Pyro kit on the way too. Buy.com has great deals, I got the enclosure plus a 30 gig drive for $225.

Boy - you got me beat on that price.

I thought 309 from outpost was great until I read your note!

You can partition it with the included software. It's pretty self-explanitory.

I have the Maxtor 60gig. Too good of a deal for the $200-250 its going for.
