First let me describe my setup:
B&W G3 400mhz Rev1
Sony Spressa CRX-120E/X 4x4x24x FireWire burner
Mac OS 10.1 build 5L21 (newest version as of today, 11/8/01).

My problem is is that my burner refuses to work in 10.1.

It works just fine in 9.2.1, just as it should - Toast 5 and the Finder all see the drive and can use it.

It previously was working in 10.1 - I hadn't used it in about 4 days, and I went to use the Disk Copy in 10.1, and it showed no supported drives. No matter what I did, the drive would not be visible to any application in 10.1.

Here's what I've tried:
1. Hotplugging the firewire port, both in to the motherboard, and to the drive
2. Powering down the drive, and powering it back up while plugged in to the FW
3. I tried using the drive on a 500mhz dual USB iBook - no luck. It showed up in 9.2.1 but not 10.0.4 or 10.1. (clean installs)
4. I clean installed 10.1 on my B&W, no luck either.

I have a friend, also with an identical Sony drive, and also a B&W G3, and surprisingly he has the same problem; it was working in 10.1 and then stopped (his also works in 9.2.1).

Any help or info, or just some other people with the same problem would be greatly appreciated

-THX
Just because Windows users vastly outnumber Mac users, numbers alone do not denote a higher form of life. Cøckroaches outnumber humans many times over, and no one says a cøckroach is better than a human.
