ok everyone. So here is my problem I am encountering. I am trying to get my printer which is hooked up to my desktop Dell PC and is the "host" computer which i have my router connected to , to print wirelessly from my Macbook. Now, I set up all the sharing parameters on both computers. After doing it all and thinking I was one step away from printing wirelssly, I found out that my canon Multipass MP390 all in one printer which is only 3 years old at most , does not support mac OS (or so it seems). So, i ask this of you,. oh great computer community. Is there a website that has been developed that might have a mac driver for this printer. I did dl from one website what I thought were the appropriate drivers and while i did get my prin ter to print, it only printed in black and white, and it printed really, really small and not "true size". I feel like i am on the right track and am really close to getting this done. Anyone ever have probs hooking up printers that aren't mac compatible. Is this even possible or am I full of poo poo?

When I had to connect my Mac to an HP LaserJet 1000 (or something... forget the exact model, but it wasn't supported in OS X), the LaserJet was connected to a Windows computer and I was connecting to it from my Mac on the network (same situation you have, except the printer model was different). I found a troubleshooting article somewhere on the web that said that in this situation, simply connect to the printer over the network from your Mac, and when asked what kind of printer it is, simply select any of the Apple color LaserWriters. I did this and it worked perfectly (even though I had a BW laser printer). I've also done this with another color printer that was connected to a PC. Maybe you could try that.

I found the drivers for your printer here, but there are no Mac drivers available. Some of the later Multipass printers, like the MP450, have Mac drivers, but they probably won't work with your model.

Canon has become much more Mac-friendly than it used to be, so perhpas the best thing to do is spring for a new printer with built-in networking. That way you won't need to worry about a host PC.

Good luck!
