I'm buying an iomega CDRW drive.
Can I burn mp3's onto CDR disks and will they play on my audio cd player?

yes, but you need to either convert them to .aif format first or use Toast Deluxe 4.0.2 and it will convert them to CD-Audio Format on the Fly. If you burn them as MP3's you can fit about 11 hours worth of music on 1 CD but you can only play it in a computer or a CD playing device that specifies that it will play MP3's. I know Apex makes a DVD Player that will play MP3's off CD-R.

Yes . . . you can burn mp3's on cdr discs! No they will not play on an audio cd player unless you decode them into AIFF files first, and then burn them onto a disc. Many mp3 players can decode them. Once decoded into AIFF files, you can fit approximately 19-22 songs on one 650 mb disc . Approximately 130-135 mp3 files can fit on one disc. Enjoy! Peter

How about sound files? Like lectures and half hour radio shows that I play on realplayer? Can
those be converted to CD audio to be
played on a portable CD player?

Does anyone know a program that can convert files from MP3 to AIFF files?

Is AIFF the same as a WAVE file?

Programs to use to convert .mp3 to .aiff is toast, soundjam, quicktime 4.1 pro. I use these programs all the time with my G4 and Teac 8x CD-R. The only thing with .aiff, is that it eats up your hard drive, so be sure to have a big hd, and fast computer with a lot of ram.
