what the heck? does anyone know the shortcut or where to look to disable this? I've tried looking everywhere is system preferences, accesiblity options, universal access, keyboard and mouse options.. and I can't find a button that would turn this on or off.

right now, if I press 8, my mouse moves up... 4 and 6 are left and right, 2 is down, 1 3 7 and 9 are move diagonally, and 5 is click... and I cannot get it to go away.. I want to be able to type numbers..... not move the mouse, I have a mouse for that.

I tried changing the batteries but it didn't fix it.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

simple google search found the answer...

hidden in this page.. Mac OS X keyboard shortcuts

The Universal Access preference pane allows you to turn on Mouse Keys. When Mouse Keys is on, you can use the numeric keypad to move the mouse. If your computer doesn't have a numeric keypad, use the Fn (function) key.
It's called "mouse keys" what a stupid name.... anyways, it turns on when you press the option key 5 times...don't know when I did that, but oh well..

you have to go to the mouse and trackpad area of universal access to find it.

just for future reference.
