Hey guys, I'm on a iBook 1.33 ghz G4. I am running a external firewire drive. I cannot get the drive to mount. I've checked the firewire port and it seems to be working. I have restarted the computer twice and the HD 4 times. I've used different chords and it is still not mounting.

Any ideas on what else to try?

boot to CD (hold down the C key when you startup) and go to disk utility and see if it sees it there. if it does then run repair permissions/ repair disk. reboot and see if it mounts. if you can afford to wipe the disk, then erase and reformat to hfs+ format.

have you ever been able to mount that drive in that iBook?

madrag, yes I have. It's stopped working properly latetly. edge, that worked. I plan on wiping the drive soon.
