I'm shopping for a portable FireWire CD-RW drive. Has anyone out there had experience with the LaCie PocketCD-RW 8x4x24x or the SmartDisk VST FireWire Portable CD-R/W 8x8x24?

As best I can tell, the advantages of the LaCie model are the USB connector for non-FireWire machines and the 8 MB buffer. The VST model, on the other hand, is cheaper and has buffer underrun protection.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.
