Someone once stated there was a way to bring up a "brick" style game on the demo units of the iPod. Does anyone know if it is still there on shipping iPods? If so how would one access it? Are there anyother "hidden" features?
Thank you in advance for your input.

That game is still there (at least on the iPod I used today at a local retailer).
To access it:
Navigate to the "About" screen.
Hold down the center select button on the iPod until the game screen comes up.
Then you can use the scroll pad to move the paddle in the game.

Yup, Breakout! (or whatever you want to call the game) is still on the retail iPods. Follow Patrick's instructions.

Verified on my wife's production unit. She's playing the game now.

WARNING!!! "SPOILERS" ahead!!!
OK, geek that I am I just played it on mine and got a whopping 671 points with just 1 brick left on that board. This was only the second game that I played (the first one ended in a paltry 32 points).
Some "spoilers":
- initially a few extra rows of bricks were added 1 row at a time as you moved to new boards
- around 250 points I started getting a ball that would split into 2 balls on its first impact with a brick. You could lose one of these balls without incurring a penalty.
- this continued until around 400 points when your first ball would split into 3 balls on initial impact. This time you could lose 2 of them without penalty.
- the extra rows thing happened in conjuction with these advances if my memory serves
- around 600 points it dropped back to a ball that would split into 2 balls on first brick impact, but now you were dealing with a much shorter paddle. You could lose 1 of these 2 without penalty.
Can't help you beyond 671 points (curse you, brick #27!!!). My only hope was to maneuver the ball so it was bouncing nearly vertical. Once it starts that zigzagging at obtuse angles and obtuse speeds I was pretty much a goner.
I was hoping at some point it was going to stop and award a prize. Oh well. No free Cinema Display for me. [NOTE: this is purely a lament on my part - AFAIK, no prize or contest of any sort exists nor have I heard that it even maybe might possibly kinda be there in my dreams.]
