Hi...I have been through the user's manual several trying to find out how to limit the size of a scan. I know that down in the left corner it records the size in kbs of the image, but the last 4"x6" photo I scanned showed up as a whopping 1387kbs...the application I want to upload to only takes 97...is there a way for me to reduce the size in kbs of the image?

Hi gepepa.

PhotoDeluxe uses your scanner's plugins to scan a photo, so every scanner has it's own screens and adjustments. Try scanning at lower DPI settings; 72 dpi (dots per inch) is fine for posting photos on your Macs screen or the web.

Also, after you scan--use the send/export-to-disk command to convert from PhotoDeluxe's (Photoshop) default image format to a JPEG or GIF. This command has options to lower the image-quality and thereby make your image smaller too.

Good Luck, T.

Thanks, TJ....In order to get the size to 88k (the application will only accept a maximum of 90k)I have gone to 35% on the size (which is a scan of a 6" x 4" photo) and 50dpi...but the picture of my house then shows up as a 1"x1" image on the site. I have been using a Medium quality for the export.
It is very perplexing...

Use the PhotoDeluxe advanced option to adjust the size and dpi.
