Apple says it's "only for Power Mac G4 systems with the new 4X AGP card slot (Power Mac G4 desktops introduced in January 2001)."
Does this mean it won't work at all? I'm considering getting an older PowerMac and a big factor will be if I can upgrade the graphics card or not. (I would prefer a card with ADC) The Radeon isn't listed at the Apple store and I haven't seen a GeForce2MX anywhere. If I'm wrong about the Radeon and Geforce2MX being available please let me know. A search for them at the Apple store produces no results.

probably a good idea to search this forum first...I think I recently saw an identical post, redirected to Xlr8, which is what I'll do for you. Check out Xlr8 for more info. I just bought an Apple OEM Radeon 'cuz while GeForce3 is nice, by the time I get another computer, there'll be much better graphic cards for similar price...as to where to find Apple OEM Radeon...go to the accessories page at Apple Store, under displays. ($150, slower than retail Radeon for some reason, and lack a fan. Retail Radeon about $190)

Yep, I see the other thread now. I don't know how I missed it. I apologize to all for the clutter.
I have not explored XLR8 until now and it seems like the place for this type of information.
Radeon does not seem to be available at the Apple Store anymore. Perhaps something to do with the fact that it's not even a BTO option anymore.

Woah, I must've bought the last one they had at the Apple Store...'cuz I ordered it less than a week ago, and it arrived only 3 days ago. @_@ Sorry man, guess you are out of luck...unless you want to trade me a GeForce 2 MX for it with a little extra pay (they worth 'bout same, but Radeon's DDR make it better at higher resolution than 2MX, so its a better card overall)

I was yacking with the folks at nVidia at MacWorld and asked about the possibility of a PCI GeForce3. Not gonna happen. The move is towards 4X AGP, with an eye toward even faster slots. Backwards compatibility with older machines is definitely not a priority. My humble B&W Power Mac might last me to the G5's, but that's about all. I see the trend, and it's up, up, and away!

If you were using a PC with 2x AGP, it would work, but Steve probably had nVIDIA code something in their drivers that makes them incompatible with older machines, forcing you to upgrade...
