I just enabled 'show hidden and invisible files' on the TinkerTool preference pane. I logged out and logged back in and then mounted my iPod. Well, the invisible folder that contains the music for the iPod is now visible and you can drag the files off of it. I'm gonna hook it up to my powerbook and see if i can transfer my collection to my powerbook. Just thought I'd let ya know..

Oh, wow. Tinkertool kicks quite a bit of ass. Can't wait to use it when I get my iPod.

Just a couple more weeks!

I had a question for those of you who've peered inside the hidden music folder on the iPod. Does iTunes copy the music over into a single directory or does it try to preserve and already established folder hierarchy? That is, if I have all my music organized with folders into Artist -> Album -> Song (the way iTunes organizes songs when ripping from a CD), will that hierarchy be preserved or does it get destroyed and everything ends up in one folder.

Thanks.

They were all in different folders labled '00' '01' '02' or something like that, I don't have my iPod near me at the moment to check.
