i'm debating buying a Apple 20 inch Cinema Display "Acrylic Model" for my funkdafied apple g4 quicksilver. my old viewsonic is starting to lose all color and looks like smuffed kaleidoscope.

so there's also a samsung and / or an nec that's available for this particular g4.

is it wise to go with something brand new or something slightly used that originally would've came w/ my computer if i wasn't such a cheap hound.

I assume you video card is an ATI with both an ADC and a DVI connector. If this is true you have many options.

The numer one reason to go with the Cinema Display is that is has an ADC connector and will look great next to you tower. But, if you want a great screen, you can get a new HD with better resolution, faster response time, higher contrast, and greater luminance. Check out Samsung, Viewsonic, Dell, or Gateway. You have a plethora of options.

The old Cinema Display was high end in it time, and it does have true colors. Still, LCD's are getting cheaper and better every day. And, if you ever choose to replace your tower, that ADC port with be a liability, since you will have to get a $100 adapter to get to work with DVI.

I'd buy a Dell or Samsung LCD with DVI. The ADC-DVI pin converter is $20 at most.

wow. i thought i'd be better off w/ an apple display.
i was looking on ebay at used displays and thought that since the average winning bid is around 300-350$
so... that was my main rational. also does look cool next to tower but i'm not that pretenchus.
