Has any one ever done this does it work? If so what adapter did you use to get it up and running?

It's possible, but you won't be able to start up with extensions disabled.

I *think* you can get a serial port installed in a PCI slot on the G4's (I'm not sure, but I've been told), and that you can use the ADB keyboards with those.
Anyone confirm?
If so, do the keyboards retain full functionality (extensions disable/extensions manager/zap PRAM at startup etc.)?
If so I will probably get one, as I find the small keyboards quite uncomfortable...
Anyone know if these things are simply adapters, or whether they are the real thing, if you get what I mean.

Won't work. That's the wrong kind of serial port.

The iMate and iDock II are the only devices that allow you to connect an ADB keyboard to an ADBless computer.

You cannot start up with extensions disabled this way. However, you can start up by pressing the power key. I don't know about any of the other things; I stopped using an ADB keyboard in frustration before I had to do any of them.

Good info. I'm looking to buy one off ebay and try to rewire it for USB. If I can convert it I'm post the specs. I plan on gutting a USB G4 keyboard and trying to use it's control with the ADB extended keyboard.

Sound crazy enough?
