Hello All,

I just got a Western Digital MyBook USB external. Everything was going well until I put my macbook to sleep.

At some point the macbook always wakes up with the USB MyBook plugged in, just on its own.

Also, the drive will spin down whenever it wants, as in it disobeys the system preference to not spin down.

Looking for similar experiences or suggestions.

Does anyone have a usb external that behaves like it should?

Should I return the MyBook and get something else? (I am leaning this way.)

MyBook crashed after 3 days. Lost about 250GB of data.

:-(
