I hadn't seen this mentioned anywhere else yet. I just got my iPod this morning. I like to keep some playlists sorted by a specific order, and some I just like to keep in alphabetical order. Apparently whatever sorting order you use on each playlist transfers to the iPod. What a surprising convenience! It's a little touch, but it's the attention to detail that keeps me loving Apple.
Since the iPod is supposed to mirror everything you keep in iTunes, that is not surprising. Similarly, any change you make in the iPod should be reflected back in iTunes, once you resyncronize.
I haven't received my pod yet, but can not wait !!!
Well, I found it surprising. Then again, I'm coming from using my Rio 500, which seemed convenient and perfect when I got it. I very quickly found 64 MB to be very, very cramped. And then the cheap little PoS started having boot problems. And then it died altogether. What a joy it was.
So yeah, I'll take any little piece of joy I can squeeze out of this iPod.
A footnote to tag editing is that it doesn't seem to resync a song if all you do is change capitalization. You actually have to add or delete characters before it recognizes a change. Still wonderful though.
