Can anyone give me their STEP BY STEP experiences with this drive and a rev1 Blue and White G3. I'm running OS9.0.4 w/448MB RAM and all Apple system components up to date. I've read many many different stories, tips, and advice about this drive.

I JUST bought this from Outpost.com and could not get the damn thing to work with either the OEM Toast ... the updated version of the OEM Toast ... or an updated Toast 4 Deluxe. I have an RMA number, but I wanted to get the Mac community opinion before I ship it back from whence it came.

Thanks!

The following thread has the trials and tribulations of welldonep who got a bad drive from QPS and returned it for a working unit:

QPS Que! Fire! CD writer (4X4X24)

You wouldn't be the first to get a bad drive. QPS's quality department seems to be less than satisfactory. However, those of us who got working drives from QPS are very happy with them. Good luck.

Yea, check the thread noted above and also over at http://www.macintouch.com for reader reports on the drive. Mine works great.

Hello. As Ken stated, I had purchased a 4X4X24 drive and could not get it to mount. After a long two-week battle, I decided to return the drive and purchased an 8X4X32 from Egghead . . . I have had no problems since. If you have the patience, perhaps try returning the drive for another one. I hope you get your problem resolved soon.
