OK, I've got an iMate ADB -> USB adapter so that I can use my trusty Kensington TurboMouse with my PC as well as my Mac, the only problem is that the right button is simply mapped to the right arrow on the PC side.

I know we're mostly Mac geeks here, but does anybody know how to map a key/mousebutton in windows? (the Kensington software can't see the mouse through the ADB-USB adapter)

I also plan on running Linux (redhat) on this system and will run into the same problem there I suppose.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
thanks

PS- I'm not switching platforms or anything, just need to do some xplatform network stuff

This may be a dumb suggestion, but have you tried changing it with the Mouse control panel in Windows??

No, not a dumb question, but Windows (at least Win 98 SE) doesn't let you customize the mouse too much.
It only lets you change wether the mouse is a left or right hand mouse.
I will also be using BeOS (at least a little) and will need to map the button there as well if anybody has any suggestions.
TIA

You could try downloading the Mouseworks drivers from Kensington's website < http://www.kensington.com/support/sup_1170.html>

You were right about the mouse control panel. It just tells you what the buttons do, you can't change them (I just checked on an NT box at work).

I've already tried the MouseWorks software, it can't recognise the TurboMouse, probably for two reasons, its going through the adapter, and the PC software is looking for a PS/2 (or serial) device.

I probably need to do a ResEdit-type of thing, but have no idea what I would need to fiddle with.

Oh well, thanks for your responses tonymac, if you think of anything else let me know,
will

The Microsoft Intellimouse Software allows for loads of options for your mouse, although im not sure where you would get your hands on the software alone, as it usually comes with the Intellimouse!
