I want a fairly small (the smaller the better) device that can record Music/voice audio and compress it and store and play it, like an MP3 player that connects to the Mac, say via USB (not essential) and does not have to record in realtime like a personal MD does, that can also output back to the Mac any sound recorded on it, some of these sounds being recorded to the device via a microphone (nothing fancy, just a tie mic) any one got any suggestions?

You know, you can use any cassette recorder to put audio in as long as your Mac has an audio in jack.Roxio Toast Titanium, http://www.roxio.com/en/products/cdr...4NCZT33IAVRVQQ ,
has a nice app included called CDSpin Doctor which will let you digitize and convert any audio input.

I want a device that can upload & download audio quickly, i.e. faster than realtime.
I use to have a personal MD recorder actually, but thanx anyhow for posting!

The Samsung Yepp MP3 player can records 2 hours of voice. I'm not sure which model does it, though, and I've never used it.
