What brand of rechargeable betteries are best to use with a digital camera? The ones I am using lasted me about 5 pictures the last time! I just hate to spend the cash on throw away's. I am looking for the longest use out of a charge and the fastest recharge rate.

thanks

Try Rayovacs Renewal they have a newer more powerful type that is made for digital cameras and othe high end power using stuff. I have the original renewals and I got the same life from them as I did from regular batteries.

BTW you will get tons more life of your digital camera if you shut off the LCD that gobbs up the power. on my Elph S330 I got alomst 120 pics compared to the 70 alomst double.

I GOT WASTED WITH PHIL SHERRY!!!

Judicious use can get you a long way. On a recent trip to the zoo, I got a battery warning sign after 17 picts but turned the the camera off after every pict and didn't use the lcd and got an additional 35 shots out of them before they died.

i've been using a brand called NOMEM i found at fry's. they seem pretty good. I've heard the kodaks are really good as well.

I did a lot of reading of user reviews on Amazon for rechargeable batteries. Who'd have thought they'd have such good information. People commented that some of the brands took forever to charge, others never turned off and overheated. Only one brand came out with stellar reviews for fast and safe charging: Kodak.

I went to Kodak's site and they only had the older model in stock. I wanted the new one that everybody liked. I searched and ended up ordering from Kmart's online store of all places. Nobody else seemed to have it. Here's the link to the charger. It comes with 4 batteries and I bought an extra 4 from the same place.

<a href="http://www.kmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=979214&cp&searchId=133 701491&sGroup=Electronics&keywords=kodak+b attery&parentPage=search" target="_blank">Kodak Battery Charger at kmart</a>

This charger has worked really well with my Canon A40. The rechargeable batteries have actually lasted longer than the non-rechargeables that Canon shipped with the camera. I've been very happy with this setup.

My advice is to check out <a href="http://www.steves-digicams.com/digi_accessories.html" target="_blank">http://www.steves-digicams.com/digi_accessories.html</a>. They have a lot of information regarding NiMH batteries. FYI I'm using Energizer 1700 mAh NiMH rechargables with a MAHA C204-F charger... extremely happy with the results with my Sony DSC-P50 camera! Hope this helps...
