My crt apple studio display just died of the "pop of death" and repair will be $350. Instead, I have been looking at the LCD option. I read texts and reviews (tomshardware, etc) which were all significantly outdated. Problems that were listed included low contrast, low viewing angle, high number of stuck pixels (not covered by warrenty), price, inability to change resolution adequetly, and low refresh rates (blurring of animation and text).
I do some graphic desgning, and do play fast games. The stuck pixels, blurriness, and any "interlacing", would annoy me constantly. Finally, I will never buy a monitor from apple, for quality and support/warrenty issues.
Any suggestions? (web sites, manufacturer reputations, opinions, anything).
