Has this problem been solved?

Sony dvd handycam - no firewire, mini dvd's don't fit in my MacBook Pro.

How do I get the video on my mac to edit in iMovie?

External mini dvd drives - which ones are compatible?

Do I need software to convert the video files once on my Mac?

If so, what software?

Or just give the handycam to a pc user?
