The iPod + iPhone I can understand, but what has the Apple TV got to do with either?

It's closer to an AirPort Express or PVR than it is an iPod. (AirPort Express streams music to a remote device, Apple TV streams video.)

I think lumping it in here is just distracting. Discussion about it could go in "Consumer Hardware & Components."

My 2c.

We discussed where Apple TV should go, but ultimately we decided that all of Apple's consumer electronics should go in the same place. The iPod, iPhone and Apple TV are all similar in that they are all sync with iTunes (the Apple TV has a built-in hard disk) and play the same content. I believe that singling out Apple TV from the other Apple consumer electronics devices would be more confusing than anything.

It's here for rich people to add an apple logo to their racks of Yamaha and Pioneer, If I had anything of those brands that worked, I would pick it up.

It's here because the PTB decided to put it here, and most of the users agreed.

tv is basically an iPod with WiFi sync but without a screen.

tv is much like the iPod. It makes sense to me to put it here. It's not really a peripherial.

I would say that tv is VERY iPod like.

I can't wait until people start posting reports of how well it works.

Well, when you consider that tv is also in the iPod + iTunes page on Apple's website and is part of the iPod sub-store on the Apple Store website......
