A friend of mine has a Sony LCD SDM-N50 monitor which he's trying to use with his G3 desktop, the grey (icky!) 300MHz model. However, after connecting the monitor nothing happens. No signal whatsoever. He tried it with a Powerbook G4 and it worked just fine.

What could be the issue here? The computer only has 2MB of VRAM. And, compared to the Powerbook it uses a VGA adapter in order to use new monitors (Apple shipped them computers with their own VGA implementation you know). Could that be it? This being the adapter's fault...

Thanks in advance for any help given.

/Jon
