HI,

I have a newbie question. I just bought a new Pixma 830 Printer that supports USB 2.0. I have a bunch of USB cables around and would prefer not to buy the "recommended USB 2.0" cable from Amazon. I understand the transmission rates between USB 1.0 and 2.0 are different. But are the cables different too? Do I need USB 2.0 cables for USB 2.0 speeds or will most cables work fine?

Thanks so much!
Thomas

There is no real difference between USB 1.1 and USB 2.0. It's just wires that connect to metal pins. Any cable you currently own should work just fine.
For all the trash I talk, I sure own a lot of Macs...

Yeah, they just want to charge more.

If you need to buy cables, I recommend NewEgg. $3 cables at NewEgg are $30 at many other merchants (Circuit City/Best Buy/etc).
