I have some old USB cables laying around from around the time when usb 2.0 was starting to get popular. I need to try to figure out if they are 1.0 or 2.0 cables. Is there a difference between 1.0 and 2.0 cables? If so, how can I tell them apart? The cables in question are USB A/MINI-B 4-pin cables.

You didn't read the other threads that were very recently posted, apparently.

USB 1.1 and 2.0 cables are identical. They are no different from each other except in price and packaging.

An identical question was posted earlier today...

I think the more important thing to get out of those discussions is that MOST USB cables are 2.0 cables. If it's priced "too good to be true," it could be in fact not good at all. For any name brand cable, it's almost certain that the cable is 2.0 capable, but for non-brand cables, you are playing craps if you shop for really cheap.

There was a difference for me with my USB inputs. The USB port on the computer wouldn't read my USB, so I tried it on my keyboard, which has USB 1.0 slots and it worked!
