Hi

Im trying to get get abit of info on a SCSI>FIREWIRE converter. There seems to be mixed opinions about how good they are; ive got a cube so a scsi card isn't on the cards. Also a usb converter would seem like a step backward, as I often transfer big Video Files.....

Also I live in Australia and need one which fits our power supply or alternately can run off the local power.....

Anyway any Info would be much appreciated

I'd stay away.
Converters like that aren't real reliable... but what other choices do you have?

This is exactly why I tell people not to get Cubes... sorry.

Converters don't need mains power... and I'm in Oz also, btw

I have an OrangeMicro converter and it is very reliable. The only issue I had was that the first install of the software didn't "take" for some inexplicable reason, but it has worked fine since the second install. As for power, that's where it gets buggy. DO NOT hook this one up to power, it will get power from the device -- that's the likely source of most people's problems.
