Hey there, I just picked up a 18" Sony SDM-M81, and I gotta say, it's great. I got it off of a friend for $75 bucks which I think is a pretty good deal, its from like 2001. The color is excellent, all the colors are very crisp, better than any dell I have ever used, and natural. The built-in speakers a pretty cheap, so I just use my normal ones. This is running at 1280x1024 DVI off my 12" Powerbook.

Its actually an 18" panel. But Sony makes nice panels.
