Howdi folks,
Pretty simple question I hope. I'm picking up a 17" iMac in a couple of months, but until Apple bite the bullet and produce a styleee 2-button mouse I'm going to go for a third party peripheral.
The wireless intellimouse explorer from MS looks pretty cool, but according to the specs you need OS 8.6 or 9.x **excluding** Mac OS X. It says the same for the non-wireless version.
Knowing that OS X is all-singing, all-dancing plug'n'play heaven, is this actually true? Or has MS got their wires crossed?
Any suggestions for wireless, optical, 2-button + scroll wheel alternatives?

I don't know about the wireless, but I use an Intellimouse Optical in OS X. <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouse/download_ns.asp" target="_blank">The drivers can be found here.</a>

I've got... let's see... one MS Intellimouse Optical and one MS Intellimouse Explorer, as well as one Logitech Cordless mouse and one Graphire II pad/mouse. Love the design on the Apple Pro mouse, but with only one button and no scroll wheel, I can't use it.
I'm having trouble with the MS Intellimouse Optical on some surfaces; it starts 'jumping' or 'jiggling' for no appearant reason. (I figure it's because the surface doesn't doesn't give enough contrast.) The MS Intellimouse Explorer works without a hitch.
Under Mac OS X 10.1.x, that is. There was a lot of trouble with the mouse freezing or not loading at all under earlier versions of the OS (X). In 10.1.x all buttons work, even! (It made no difference, really, installing the MS driver under 10.0.x.)
I'm no M$ lover, me, but I have to say the form design of the Intellimouse makes it a pleasure to use. (I've stopped using both the Logitech mouse and the Graphire mouse. The Graphire gave me cramps, anyway...)

Any trouble with it? I've read tonnes of reviews which claim the Wireless is very laggy...
