here is what i want to do, i know there are a few ways to do it but i figured i'd ask before i go and blow cash on something.

What i have: a g4 400mhz currently with a rage 128 pro video card (agp).

an 18.1" sony lcd (running off dvi port) and i also have a 17" sony crt (vga).

What i want to do: hook both up and do desktop spanning between them.

My card doesn't let me run both at the same time although it has both dvi and vga hookups. From what i have read the radeon 7000 series will let me do this, but would it be a better idea to just buy a cheaper pci video card to drive the 17"?

thanks!

If you already have a video card you are happy with start pricing one for the second monitor since it doesn't need much of a card (2mb, 4mb?) to drive a second monitor since it won't be used for games.

Otherwise, bring on the 7500!

right now the rage 128 pro works fine for me, seems to drive my lcd fine and graphics run nice. i found a rage 128 pro pci for 74 bux, but i'm also running osX and i've heard that some pci video cards don't run in X. anyone know if the rage 128 pro-pci will?
