Hi,
I have an Firewire enclosure that works fine with any hard drive or the Pioneer DVR-A-04, however, when I tried to install the TDK-CDRW-32-10-40 the drive just wouldn't start.
When I power up the drive, the light would just be solide all the time and nothing happen...I can't even eject the drive. But when I disconnect the 40 pin rubin eide connectors, the drive light would blink and the drive would eject.
Does anyone have/had the same problem and know the solution to this?
Thanks

There was an advice on a similar problem in a german Mac journal. It says that some drives on the Mac need a connector with one of the cables (I think it was number 34, at home I will have another look) cut: Without that a drive could misunderstand a signal from the Mac controller. Maybe you can temporaly isolate a contact to test that.

I have talked to ADS pyro about their enclosure. He said that the current line is a mature product and that the only suggestion he has now for a CDRW is to set it to master.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work.
So I called the people I bought the enclosure from. They told me that the Pioneer DVR drive they have to flash the rom of the enclosure diferently then other cdr-w. So if I want to use the enclosure for other CDR-W than the Pioneer DVR they have to re-flash to rom accordingly.
