Kay.

I'll start the bidding. I've bought two ADS Pyro Firewire enclosures from CompUSA, both at $99. The new ones (with 2 firewire ports, not 3) have a 911 bridge.

I'm sure there's cheaper, but I like going to the store and walking out with a case. Even if it CompUSA.

Thanks for keeping me on the page,

Saw the ADS at circuit city this afternoon also, same $99 (new and old style same price)

Did they work well for you? What did you install (cdrom, cdrw, dvdrom, dvdram, etc)?? brand/model??

I'll check the website for a compatability list, but if there's any doc's in the box that you could give me a heads -up on , i'd be grateful.....specifically if dvdrw is compat.

I'm also considering enclosures that might be like a mini tower with 2 or 3 bays if such a thing exists, haven't seen such a beast.......yet. (with bridges installed)

Hey.

They work great. I have an IDE hard-drive and a CD-RW (Que?) in 'em. They come with software to flash the bridge for either a drive or a burner. The only problem I've had is wwhen I unmount the drive (apple-Y), they won't remount unless I restart. Though I suspect there's probably some utility that'll get around that.

I dunno about DVR-RAM/ROM, but I don't know why it wouldn't work. The best bet would be to check www.xlr8yourmac.com . They have an extesive database of these kinda things. I checked 'em out before I bought my cases and CD-RW to see if they were bootable. Lotsa good info over there.
