Hi

I was so unhappy with my Epson 480 printer that does not want to print under OS X - no drivers for it - that I went to the store and bought a nice HP 920c deskjet. It was written on the box "OSX compatible" so I was really happy that I could FINALLY print something right on OS X. Is that too much to ask ?

Everything went fine until I chose "add a printer" in the "print center". I got everytime an error message # -108

Can someone help me before I bring the printer back to the store (and I switch to Windows XP - starting to be fed up with all those printer/peripheral problems with X)

Thank you !!

PS: Forgot to mention I spent 30 minutes with a nice HP guy who tried to help me and another 15 minutes with the Apple helpline. 10 minutes spent trying to convince me to buy their AppleCare program and the other 5 minutes to tell me "I am sending you an article that talks about your problem on our support page". But it did not help

I guess that you have downloaded the correct driver for your printer from hp's site.Am I right?
The only thing that says is error -38 ? Nothing more?
Be more detailed at what you do so that we can help you more accurately

Skypat - I own the HP930 which is almost identical to your HP920. It works great in OSX (10.1.2). However, I have the most recent HP driver for OSX dated 4-9-02 and 8.1MB in size. HP has had several OSX driver updates recently, the last few seem to work very well on my setup. Try looking at www.versiontracker.com and do a search for HP driver (or similar). regards.........joe

Well I have already installed the latest driver from the HP website (1.3) ... I also installed the 1.2 to try. But I still get that -108 error message when I want to add my printer in the print center.

Could it perhaps be an issue with Print Center's privileges? Try to search the forums: there are some useful links for resolving this issue...
